Berner Drops New Album ‘Hempire’ on April 1st
Bay Area rapper and cookies King Berner has finally made some important announcements recently. With fans clamoring to get to know more details on when they can expect new works from him, the rapper has finally given information on the possibility of fans getting a new album courtesy of him pretty soon. The new album is going to be titled Hempire and the rapper is currently in the studio working on the tracks that will be included in the album’s final rack list.
Along with the announcement of the new album, the rapper has also revealed in his Instagram account the cover artwork for the upcoming album. That rapper has even stated that fans can actually expect the new album that he is currently working on to be finally released on the first of April of this year. Fans are truly hoping that this is not going to be one of those elaborate April Fool’s jokes since they are really hoping that the new album gets to be dropped on the first day of the month that every smoker out there loves.
The San Francisco native has since adapted the rap name Berner. His real name though is Gilbert Milam Jr. he has since set his eyes to become the next great artist that the Bay has to offer. He has actually started his career by taking part in rap battles. These are usually done in many of the local coffee shops as well as those open nights in the San Francisco areas. This was around the year 2007. Berner did decide to take thing to a whole new level though by pursuing his passion and making it into a career.
If there is one thing that this rapper’s story embodies, it would be grass roots. He created his own label, Bern one Entertainment. Afterward, he released a debut album. Titled ‘Track Money and Pack Money’, it was a joint effort that he shared with a fellow rapper in the Bay Area, Equipto. The work was a testament to the never ending grind that he has always been known for. He has since released ten independent albums under his name, several of these albums have even charted on the Top Rap Albums chart on Billboard.
It was in 2012 when Berner collaborated with Wiz Khalifa. He signed to his Taylor Gang Records. He then joined a thriving roster that includes such names as Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Courtney Noelle, Lola Monroe, Tuki Carter and even more. His first collection to be released under Taylor Gang Records is ‘Urban Farmer’. It was released on October of that same year. Not surprisingly, it took the web by storm.
His resume actually features quite an impressive list of collaborations with other artists. He has since worked with Wyclef and Chris Brown, Bun B, and Curren$y. He has even teamed up with other members from his record label including Wiz Khalifa, as well as Juicy J. With a new album on the way, Berner is not show any signs of slowing down any time soon, now, fans are just waiting for the new album to finally drop on the first of next month.
